Charge 2 updates

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've fired up my old charge 2 which has been sat in a draw for a long time. The app informs me that there is an update available, but when I try and update it just fails.

I understand that this is a very old device, but it's pretty annoying that I can't even make use of the updates that are already available.

Hello @jenkineo and welcome to the Community.  The Charge 2 was discontinued over six years ago.  I'm not a Fitbit/Google employee, but it looks like updates  for the Charge 2 and some older models were removed about a year and a half ago.

I'm fully aware that the charge 2 is discontinued.

All I want to do is upgrade to the final firmware version which was released for the charge 2 (which the app is telling me I should do).

Hi there!

@jenkineo A warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! @LZeeW Thank you for the help!

@jenkineo If your Charge 2 is showing that it needs and update and it isn't working, I suggest you try to do the following:

First make sure your tracker is charged and then try these steps:

  1. Turn your tracker off and on again using the instructions in How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Restart your phone, and retry the update.
  3. Log in to your Fitbit account on a different device, and retry the update.

If you still have trouble, you can try to contact Customer Support.
