Hi! I know Charge 2 has been discontinued. My boss just gave me his unopened box of Charge 2 and I tried updating it so I can use it but it won’t. Is there anyway to use the fitbit without updating? Thanks in advance

Hello @ElySheen and welcome to the Community. It looks like Fitbit/Google removed updates for several models about a year and a half ago. There are user posts in the Alta/Alta HR and Blaze forums describing the same thing. All three models were released about the same time. I personally don't think you should put any more effort into trying to set it up. There are many current posts saying that it doesn't track exercise like it is supposed to. There are also posts saying that the app doesn't give credit for time in heart rate zones like it is supposed to. Finally, the battery is eight years old. It doesn't have the lifespan of a fresh battery.
If you can get it added to your account, you should be able to use it without an update and see if a Fitbit might help you in your health and fitness journey. If so, I recommend updating to a current model. The Inspire 3 is most like the Charge 2 and is considered an entry level model. The Charge 6 has additional hardware that might or might not interest you.
