Charge 2 won't sync with iphone Xs

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Got a new Xs yesterday and can't get my Charge2 to sync at all. I've restarted the phone, the tracker, turned bluetooth off and on, restarted both again, still nothing. Anyone had similar issues/found a solution? Many thanks!

Have you made sure it is not still trying to sync to your old phone?  Make sure it is switched off and try again.

Hey @CaitlinMc, welcome aboard! I appreciate you have tried some tips to make your Charge 2 to sync with your iPhone XS. As you may know, this iPhone hasn't been released as a compatible device yet, however, that doesn't mean that won't connect. Please make sure that, as @Blossom91 suggested, your older phone is off or at least, it's Bluetooth is off, so it won't interfere between them. If so, I'd like you to make sure that you followed all the troubleshooting steps in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

I have the same issue and the Fitbit response is just sync it to another mobile device like an iPad!  Then you lose many features of this tracker.  Like you, I have tried it all with no success.

Hey @kruckhelen, I hope you are doin' great! You can try to sync your Charge 2 with the iPhone Xs, even though it hasn't been added to the compatible devices list and it might work or not. This is something that I can't guarantee. And in the meantime, please be patient while our team is working in order to add more phones and tablets to work with Fitbit devices. I don't think that this new iPhone will take longer to be added.

I will appreciate your time and patience!

I am having the same issue: my Charge 2 won't connect to Iphone xs.  Very frustrating.

Hey @jemque, welcome to the Community! The iPhone XS isn't a compatible device yet, so I'm afraid that compatibility issues will be there and I can't guarantee that your Charge 2 will connect. However, you can try the troubleshooting in these help articles:

- Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

- Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

I have the new iPhone XS Max and I did get my Charge 2 HR to connect. The issue that I am having is that it will not automatically pull data from my Fitbit. The only way I can get info into this is to go into the app and wait for it to sync and then back out. Will this be updated to work as it does on an Android device?

Hey @n4speed77, it is great to see you around more often! Ok, let me see if I understood. So your iPhone XS Max recognized your Charge 2 however, the data from the tracker won't transfer to the Fitbit app, right? If so, that means that it is actually not syncing. Since the iPhone XS Max hasn't been officially released as a compatible device, is normal that will not sync constantly. As a recommendation, you can take a look and follow the troubleshooting in this help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

@HeydyF thank you for the reply. I was thinking the same thing that the phone might be too new, but wasn't sure. Hopefully they have an update soon for this issue. Can you tell if the Charge 3 is a compatible device for the iPhone XS Max or is the phone just too new for all Fitbit Devices at this time?

Thanks for getting back to me @n4speed77! The iPhone XS Max is too new for Fitbit devices, not only for the Charge 3. But I'm pretty sure that our team will add it soon. Just stay tune. 😉

I believe this to be the case. I spent an hour on the phone with Apple and it’s not their Bluetooth or settings. I can connect using my IPad but that’s not very convenient.

Thanks for your reply @jemque! There are some other requirements that our team has to review so this phone model can be finally added as a compatible device to work with Fitbit trackers and watches. So I will ask you to be patient while this is getting done. 😉

I appreciate your time and understanding!

That is also a very important advice to follow, prior setting up your Charge 2, unpair it from the Bluetooth settings @euromisayah, so it won't take too long to connect your tracker with the iPhone XR or with any other device you want to use to sync.

Agree. We need to unpair our Fitbit to our old phones before we sync it to our new phones. @HeydyF

I am tech savvy and I did that first thing when I got my new phone. Impaired and paired to the new one. That is why mine synced but will not auto update. If I don’t go into the app myself it would never update.

Thanks for sharing that tip @euromisayah! I'm pretty sure this might help other users with the same issue, to solve it.

@n4speed77, so it is updated and syncing fine now, right?

No, it only syncs if I open the app deliberately. It doesn’t auto sync like android models do.

How are you today @n4speed77? If the "All day sync" option is ON but your Charge 2 still not syncing until you open the Fitbit app, why don't you try to force quit the app and then log out/log back in to your account. That might work, so give it a try.
