How to replace my old Charge 2 with another one?

Hi,

My Charge 2 screen cracked and Fitbit have agreed to replace the device under warranty -(Thank you) but just wondering how I go about swapping them over on my App - do i just add the new one as an extra device then sync it and remove the old one so that it cannot re-sync with the App. Its probably blindingly obvious but ...

First thing, sync from old tracker.

Then from phone dashboard, click 'Account' icon near top right.  Look for "+  Set up a Device" and click that.  It will ask which device you want to add.  If you choose you already connected, as in your case, it says there is already one connected and asks if you want to replace it - yes; then follow prompts.

Hey @CPSan, welcome aboard! Were you able to set up your Charge 2 without inconveniences? Please keep ups posted if you have further questions. 😉

Thanks for the helpful information.

Hi,

Yes thanks it was very easy; once I clicked 'replace' it asked for the pin no. given on the watch and it was accepted straight away, it then took a few minutes & a couple of attempts to manually sync it before it actually started to show my stats on my phone but overall very easy. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I've had the same issue.
Old Charge 2 broke, acquired new one, tried to set it up and it works - after a fashion.
What I did NOT expect was that the whole thing reset and I had to enter all my preferences all over again.
Wasn't THAT the reason for using an app - so you can keep your settings?
What I find more disturbing is the fact that my app tells me I have the option to choose between activities on my Charge2 (7 chosen) - and they don't show up on my wrist at all.
When I go cycling an uncertain distance - it might be a string of short hops - I like to see where I went (GPS?) and how long every hop took. Ditto for my walks.
Guess what? No activities AT ALL on my watch. Not before a run, not after - and no way to get them with GPS location.
What's changed - and how can I get it working again?

@B1ker  Did you set up replacement in the same account name/email?

Glad to see this, I was looking for a way to do it from the fitbit.com website. It's confusing that some features are only available at the URL and others on the app.
