Black screen...Hello, I've had my charge 3 coming up to 2 years now and it has worked perfectly well for me up until waking up on Sunday morning. When I woke up it had what looked like a bleed on the screen except that it kept changing shapes when I pressed the side button. Please let me give you a bit of a back story. When I went to bed on Saturday night it was working well but the clocks went back an hour for daylight savings time (UK) and it's worked fine for all the other time changes since I've had the watch so I wasn't worried at all but upon waking on Sunday the screen was just showing blob shapes which changed shape as though it was trying to show you information when I pressed the side button. I realised that I hadn't updated the software for a while so I pressed the "update now" button and waited, then, when the update had finished I pressed the side button to check it again only to find a totally blank screen but the button was vibrating, again as though it was trying to work, but, nothing happened. I rang the help desk but she just kept repeating to put it on charge and to press the side button for ten seconds. I tried to advise her that I don't have a small "butterfly clip" charger but instead I have a large rigid charger that can only be classed as a docking station so I cannot press the sides in. The lady on the other end of the phone clearly thought I was dreaming this station up because she kept repeating her instructions and then in the end said that she would discuss the situation with her colleagues and send me an email. I received the promised email but instead of supplying me with the instructions to fix my twenty-two month piece of kit, the email stressed that I was out of my warranty period so I wasn't entitled to a replacement. Not once did I ask for or even want a replacement, I simply asked for help troubleshooting my problem, then came a second email stating again that the warranty period was over so I couldn't have a replacement but I could have a 35% discount on a new model - as long as it wasn't a Fitbit Ace 3, Inspire 3 and Google Pixel Watch. Also that discount didn't apply to the tax, shipping etc and none of the accessories was included either. Well, thanks for that but, again, I did not ask for and do not want a replacement! It's as though she didn't either bother looking into my problem so I'm asking you all if any of you have had the same problem but have a larger c shape docking station and not the clip design charger. Please help, my son bought it for me and I don't want a new one if I can help it, especially for what seems like a simple problem.

Long restart:
Connect the device to the charging cable.
While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
The device turns on and shows a battery icon.
The device turns off.
The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur.

Will

I've tried this but the screen remains blank.  No icons.  Any further suggestions?

Hello and thank you for your response, we've been trying to do this but as my photo shows the docking station is different to the usual clip charger and it's rigid, you cannot press the side button once it's in position Sent from my Galaxy

I tried that but the battery didn't show! I contacted customer service (after chat hung up on me) and managed on the brief time my screen showed to do a factory reset. But it didn't work and now when I do the "reset" by putting Fitbit on charger and pressing the side I only get the smiley face then brief flash of screen display then It times out again. My fit bit is 26 months old. Have been offered 35% discount to buy a new one which takes it to the same price it would cost buying it on Amazon ! Not impressed.
