Charge 3 Firmware Release - 1.88.11

ANSWERED
Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

8/14 Update: We are continuing to roll out the firmware update for Charge 3 and expect more users will see it as available. This is a progressive rollout, and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!

Please use this thread to share your experience updating the firmware once it's received. If you have a different inquiry, please post in a thread with a similar topic or create a new post.

7/23 Update: the firmware update has only rolled out to a small percentage of users, and will roll out further next week. It should be rolling out to everyone soon. Thanks for your patience and interest, we look forward to hearing your feedback on the new firmware.

We've begun releasing new firmware (1.88.11) for Charge 3 to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CHARGE 3 FIRMWARE UPDATE: ALARMS CLEARED

We moved where you set alarms from the Fitbit app to your wrist! After you update, any alarms set will be cleared and need to set up again on the device.

To make sure you don't miss an important alarm, open the Alarms app on Charge 3 and tap *+ Set up a new alarm*. Tap the checkmark to save and make sure it’s set.

I agree, big mistake

Me too! it keeps saying "No Device Found" regardless of every troubleshoot known to man, and my time is behind by minutes and the gap grows larger each time I dont reset my Charge 3. Even when I do reset it syncs for a second then unpairs.

Feed back.. Please move the alarms back to the mobile app! You have taken away my ability to set multiple alarms. Also it is more difficult to set an alarm on the device than it is on the phone! This is a step back in functionalities!

How so? You can set multiple alarms on the tracker, with repeats for each.

the continuous vibrations are the equivalent of a heart attack to the fitbit.......Its happened to my original fitbit, then the warranty replacement.  2 dead devices.... 😞

@an-na Thanks for clarifying you can still set multiple alarms that repeat through the band with the update. I was starting to get the impression from other posts that it only allowed 1 alarm at a time that does not repeat.

But in all honesty, the charge 3 was a popular device, it makes sense to
stagger the updates in case of an issue not all users are affected. I'll
remain patient. Just curious as to the new clock faces included. Are they
the same as the Charge 4?

Issues are the reason that there's an alpha and beta release process first, to ferret out problems before mass release of the final product.

Well, put alarm management back in the app. Leave it on the fitbit as well, but put it back on the app.

I couldn't agree more.  There is no technical reason why you couldn't set an alarm in both places.

FYI to everyone updating their Fitbit, mine lost all steps for the day during my update.  It kept all other stats, except for steps :(.

PLEASE PLEASE put the alarm back on the fitbit app as well as on the device! It is so much easier on my phone were I can have multiple alarms set and select the one I want to turn on given the day of the week or my work sked, going into the device itself, while a nice extra, does not work as well for me.

My Charge 3 started acting crazy, had white lines across the LED, wouldn't update (they sent me a new one), and now then new one won't pair up to my cell phone!

@Noelfan32 - Hi Noelfan32, 5 new clocks have been added coming from the Charge 4: V-lines, Totem, Pendulum, M-Tumbler & Rightful Stats.I was looking forward to the Pendulum face, but in practice I consider the clock hands too skinny, and have trouble seeing this outdoors. If the clock hands were similar to those in Analog Stat, or even the analog face of the Charge 2, that would be perfect :-)Sent from my Samsung.

agree, what I don’t understand why not have alarm on Fitbit device and the phone app to where you can set alarm on Fitbit app and Fitbit device and why take the chatter out. I know with all the Fitbit trackers don’t have chatter anymore like the Alta HR has. I missed that and motivation to get you walking . Bring back the chatter!!! I hope I get my bedtime reminder on the tracker with this filmware update.

Cannot track my sleep on Charge 3 since update. Message on device “sleep not tracked”. Option to open sleep in the app not available- greyed out - Does this mean I have to pay for this?

Also only calories used and weight shown in the app, steps have disappeared. Is this intentional?

Have rebooted watch and updated app

Overall, this update has proved a very disappointing experience.

Just got It. The menu and flows are nice and smooth. Also the alarm setting is quick and intuitive. The clock faces also finally make sense to me, comfortable packing in all the stats I want.

This is the 3rd 3 I have had doing the exact same thing. The replaced 2 and will not replace the 3rd even though they admitted they replaced the 2 previous with refurbished trackers.  It isn't right when it is obvious there is a defect.

If you keep those alarms on you’d be lucky to get 8 months out of a brand new charge 3, I did not

Get ready to buy a new one, those alarms vibrations literally fry your watch, that was exactly what happened to mine before I had to throw it in the garbage

Same here after the update I constantly get no device found in bluetooth on my IPAD. Every once in awhile it will synch and then fails again. I have tried all the fixes suggested, but the same problem occurs. My IPAD picks up other bluetooth devices but not the fitbit. I think the update hosed the bluetooth on the fitbit.
