Charge 3 Going Crazy

This morning, I tried to charge my Charge 3 for the first time since the most recent update.  But upon connecting it to the charger, the Charge 3 immediately began acting crazy, skipping from one screen to the next and back, blinking on/off, selecting random options.  I've attempted several long restarts, all to no avail.  Help!

My charge 3 is going from the clock face to the screen wake & notifications screen and deselecting & selecting without me touching it.

I spent 30 minutes in a Chat with Support.  They had me try a restart, which didn't do anything, and then offered a 25% discount on "select devices".  Otherwise, no help.

I spent time in the chat as well. Thankfully I purchased my Fitbit in April so they are replacing the tracker.
