I noticed recently that all my runs with the Charge 3 have been very inaccurate. When I called support about it, the suggestion was to fix my stride lengths. At first I was confused because I use the GPS to track my runs but I think I realize why. It only uses the GPS to track your route. It still uses the stride length to calculate pace and distance real time.
Some more info. I have the runs sent to Strava also. In Strava you can tell it to "ignore" the distance sent by the tracker and calculate the distance using the GPS data only. When I do this it is accurate which implies either the Fitbit is using stride length or its method of calculating the distance is very wrong.
Can anyone confirm this? I am very disappointed as I found out all my runs were about 10% shorter and slower than I thought.
