Over time the brighness lowers. This seems to be an software issue because I can trick it into giving me a normal brighness when I fail to keep the fb connected while changing the clockface.

Hello @GJBerends, thanks for stopping by! On Charge 3, you can manage basic settings including brightness, heart rate, and button sensitivity directly on your tracker. Open the Settings app and tap a setting to adjust it (Brightness can be adjusted between "Auto", "Normal", and "Dim"). Swipe up to see the full list of settings.
I'd also recommend to restart your Charge 3 by following the steps at: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
Let me know if this helps, I'll be around!

hi Marre
Yes I am familier with the options. In short every setting even normal becomes unreadable except at night.
I also tried the following:
- Change clock type
- Restarted the fitbit
- Reset the fitbit
Nothing seems to work and the fitbit works fine but the display is useless in the daytime.
I can trick the fb in the normal display brightness with changing the clocktype and while it is loading disconnect bt. It will work just fine with the brightness correct until I connect it with bt again and sync the fitbit data with my phone.
So for now I work around the problem but I hope Fitbit will help me with a solution. Because I want to see my steps and time during the daytime and sync it to get my messages on my fitbit. This is now impossible.

How do I get to the settings screen on the fitbit Charge 3?

Same problem. I did a complete reset. Can hardly see the screen. I did sign up for 3 free months of premium. What a waste. Can't even see the screen. A lot of folks have the same problem. I'd like to wear it but even the time seems to be very dim. Any ideas - the ones from fitbit seem useless?

Is that a trick to lead us buy a new one?
Or a bad algorithm to conserve battery.
But why would that be adjusted by the app?
I have the same symptoms.
Those batteries are supposed to operate almost at full capacity for a 1000 charges. Charging it once a week it barely reached 150 charges for the 2.5 years I own it.

This is what I've come to believe. My Charge 3 is a few years old now but the screen is super dim. Best guess is it's being intentionally dimmed because of age so that I buy a new one
