Charge 3 - Stuck on smiley face

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 3 is stuck on the smiley face. I tried the restart and the smiley face goes away for a couple of seconds and comes right back. I plugged it in thinking it just needs charged since the battery was low but that hasn’t helped. Any solutions?

Welcome on board @Wirschnc, it's nice to see you around! Thanks for taking the time to restart your Charge 3 in order to solve the issue with the screen. Nice way to go!

I was about to create a support case on your behalf, but I saw you got in touch with our Support Team after posting here. I'm glad to hear they were able to sort this out.

Please don't hesitate to let me know if there's anything else I may do to assist in the meantime.

Welcome to the Community Forums @nichaphat! First of all, I'd recommend leaving your tracker charging at least 1 hour. Then, please check if your tracker is displaying anything than the smiley face. If the smiley face has gone, let's try to restart your tracker once by following these steps:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Give this a shot and let me know the outcome.

Replaced lost charger.  Fitbit lit up but did / would not synch.  Unplugged, disconnected Bluetooth,  removed app and reloaded,  deleted charge 3 from blue tooth list.... 4 hours and too many u-tube editorials to count.  At this point get vibration, smiley face and searching... Fitbit is not pairing.

Hi I followed the instructions , but even when I plug it for charging, the smiley face doesn't change. I can feel the tracker vibrate, but that's all it does. Can you please help?

I tried resetting mine a few times and it kept giving me that stupid ugly face. I punched it. More like slapped it. Over and over. It ended up working. Hope this helps.

I have the same issue. Did they send you a new one because you had the warranty? My Fitbit is having the same issue and after multiple restart, it still doesn’t work. But my product warranty has passed. I was wondering Fitbit support would still help me with my Fitbit.

Hello everyone. @MaryBei Welcome to the community forums!

I appreciate the detailed information and your help in following the suggested troubleshooting steps. At this time, if the issue has persisted, my best recommendation is that you please contact our Support Team for further assistance and they will also review your available options. Note that you can contact them through chat or over the phone, but phone wait times have been longer than normal, so I recommend initiating a chat. Click here to get connected.

Regarding your question, please note that replacement devices are provided for products that are within the warranty period. If your original Charge 3 is no longer under warranty a discount could be an available option but some conditions and requirements should be met. For more information about our warranty policy, I recommend visiting the following link: https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/legal/returns-and-warranty

See you around.
