Hi, my Charge 3 is 11 months old and the display has gone black, i have tried the fix of plugging in and holding down the button until it gets a smiley face 16 times, i unpaired it and now when i try and pair it again i cant get the 4 numbers to pair it, everything is working but cant see the display and its now not paired? My Charge 2 also only lasted 11 months!

It's great to see you around, @Nickolegend.

Thanks for troubleshooting this display issue. Have you tried to perform a long restart? If you haven't, I recommend trying this by doing the following:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Let me know the outcome. 🙂

I have the exact same problem and this doesn’t help..

the display doesn’t show anything; no battery and no smiley.

it appears to work just fine, it counts steps and apparently I still have a heartbeat. But the screen is black and stays black

I am having the same issue and my Charge 3 is less than 1 week old.  I removed the device/unlinked but I cannot add it back because I cannot see the numbers.  The resets are not working, I only get a smiley face each time and then it goes black.

Hi AlejandraFitbit, I have the same issue however when I press and hold the button I get two vibrations and that's it. No display, no reset, no turning back on...nothing. What next?

Hello,

My charge 3 from dec 2019 shows a black display and after several good advices and procedures it is still black.

No vibration and battery or smiley isn't shown on the display.

It still works if I login to my account and I can see what I've done.

Do you have a solution

Kind regards

Yolande
