Charge 3 black screen when swiping

i have a charge 3,  in the set up process it indicates i am paired and syncing but when i swipe the screen i have no displays -- the screen stays black.  how do i activate the screen??

  1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Change a clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?
