Charge 3 blank screen and it won't sync

I'm having multiple issues with my Charge 3:

1) as of 4 days ago, my fitbit started telling time more slowly than the actual time. It was behind by a few minutes, then 30 minutes, then by hours. I resynched it and it worked...for about half a day before it was once again slow by 3, 5, 20 minutes...it is now slow by almost 12 hours. I can no longer sync it and have tried everything on the "why wont my fitbit sync?" Troubleshooting page (turning bluetooth off/on, restarting phone, turning phone off/on, signing in/out of fitbit app, uninstalling/reinstalling app, ensuring phone and device are up to date, ensuring no other bluetooth devices around), and I am unable to pair my device. This leads to my new issue.

2) I went into settings in the charge 3 to wipe the data, but the Fitbit froze as I hit "settings". The screen went black and wont turn back on. I plugged it into the USB charger and held the button for 8 seconds and it did a steady vibrate the entire time, but no smiley face ever appears. I've tried multiple times. It is plugged in correctly. It is not synched or paired to my phone anymore because of the first issue, and seems to now just be a vibrating wristband.

Not sure if its pertinent at this point, but I have a samsung galaxy s9+.
