With the app open, when I select an exercise its not connecting.  I can start the exercise but there's no indication that the two are talking to each other.

Hello @Berky322. Welcome to the community forums!

Thank you for the detailed information. If you referring to connected GPS with your iPhone 12, I'd recommend making sure that "Allow Location Access" is set to "Always" for the Fitbit app. For more information, I'd recommend visiting this help article: How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

Wilson that makes no sense whatsoever.  It should connect to the app if it is open, and if bluetooth is on.  I shouldn't be required to have Fitbit track me when I'm not using it.

@Berky322 Thank you for your reply.

I appreciate your understanding, but if you would like that your Fitbit device use your phone's GPS sensors, it is necessary that you take into consideration the following information:

  1. Confirm your phone can track your location when you're out of Wi-Fi range:
    1. Open Settings > Cellular.

    2. Make sure Cellular Data is turned on.
  1. Confirm that your phone can continue tracking your location when your phone is locked:
    1. Open Settings > General.

    2. Tap Background App Refresh, find the Fitbit app, and make sure it's turned on.
  2. Confirm that your phone can identify your location:
    1. Open Settings > Privacy.

    2. Tap Location Services and make sure it’s turned on.
    3. Find Fitbit in the app list, and make sure that Allow Location Access is set to Always.

If in case you need further assistance, take into consideration that you can also contact our Support Team for further assistance. Note that you can contact them through chat or over the phone, but phone wait times have been longer than normal, so I recommend initiating a chat. Click here to get connected.

Hope this helps.
