Charge 3 counting floors

Charge 3 seems to be counting an inordinate amount of floors, sometimes even when I'm not having a change in elevation. What constitutes a floor? Isn't this adversely affecting my exercise and calorie count?

I had the same issue and same questions. The Support Group had me do several restarts but that didn't solve the problem.

I was able to return my devise to FitBit.    Last week I got my devise back and it still counts flights of stairs.  I went on a 5,000 step no elevation change walk and recorded 22 flights climbed.

I think the Charge 3 has a defective design.  I wore my wife new (just out of the box) Charge 3 while mine was visiting FitBit. Her Charge 3 did the same thing PLUS it didn't register my heartbeat.

I'm going to be ordering an Apple Watch.

I'm pretty active so it's not unusual for my weekly floor tally to be in the hundreds. I recently visited Colombia and noticed that the number of floors I was supposedly climbing rose considerably. Whilst I certainly did lots of walking whilst I was there 964 floors in a week seemed excessive. I assumed this was down to the raised elevation. Medellin for example is 1,435m above sea level compared to London's 11m.

I just brushed this off as an amusing quirk. I quite liked the idea that I'd apparently done 210 floors in 1 day. The problem is that since I've returned home the inaccurate readings have continued. This has become particularly noticeable whilst we're all in lockdown. I seems that I'm somehow able to register dozens of floors a day without leaving my flat. Often not even leaving my bed. Who knew I was getting such a work out walking to the fridge?

I like the floor count and don't want to move it from my screen but this seems pointless when it's so obviously inaccurate.

Any advise as to how this can be remedied?

Thanks for the info. Sounds like they need to do an update or something. Might have to go the same route as you.

I think atmospheric pressure changes can mess with it. I have noticed that it counts multiple floors while sitting still during storms.
