This morning my Charge 3 has counted 900 steps before I got out of bed … How do I stop it counting steps when I am asleep?

A warm welcome to the Community @VicMu.

Your tracker might register some information while you are sleeping depending on your arm movements. You can try to restart your tracker by following the instructions provide in the help article How do I restart my Fitbit device? to avoid this to happen again. In the meantime, you can delete that extra information by following the steps in the article How do I edit or delete Fitbit data and activities?.

Let me know the outcome. Man Happy

Hello,
my device also counted 25,000 steps, and I was not even using it to sleep.
I tried to look for these steps in the graphic, but I did not find it.
Reboot the device and the 25000 steps were not canceled. What should I do?

I have the same issue. If I enter a time for driving while I was sleeping, will it erase/over write my sleep data?

Great to see you around @JoseEduardo and @OBinTheMills welcome to the Forums.

@OBinTheMills regarding your inquiry, no, if you log the activity driving, your sleep information won't be deleted.

Now @JoseEduardo can you please tell me where did you place your tracker? Was a fan near to it or any other device that vibrates? To delete the extra steps, follow the instructions provide in the help article How do I edit or delete Fitbit data and activities?.

Hope to hear from you soon. Man Happy

Hi @AlejandraFitbit, yes, he stayed on the same table as a fan.
Thank you for your help.

Thanks for the information @JoseEduardo.

The reason why your tracker registered those extra steps was for the vibrations of the fan. I recommend placing the Charge 3 in a different place and see if the issue persists. If it does, feel free to let me know.

Happy stepping! Robot Happy

I’m having a little bit of issue also. It counted 850 steps as soon as I got up this morning. I did wear it to sleep and I tried the restart this morning. Is there a way to start my steps at 0? I haven’t left the house and it’s saying I did  a lot more steps than actually done.
Any other remedies to the step counter inaccuracies?

I have the same problem. I wear my inspire HR to bed to track sleep, and wake up with it having logged several hundred steps. Last night it’s saying I walked 480 steps. I have no fan in my room. Any suggestions anyone?

i had 21,000 steps when I woke up this morning. I wore my charge three to bed as always and it accurately logged my sleep but said I had 8,000 steps as I got out of bed and 21000 steps by the time I walked to the kitchen.. I rebooted the device but it is still adding steps at a crazy rate
