Charge 3 dead

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am starting a topic again because I searched by my user name and can't find the topic I started . . . Have a Charge 3 that is just over 1 year old, bought in June of 2019. Last week went swimming with my kids and it died. Put it on the charger when I got home, seemed ok again but went from full battery to dead within a couple hours. Had some trouble with the connections for my charger and needed to wiggle it around a bit to get a good connection. I let it charge fully overnight, looked good to go. Battery again drained very quickly, and now noticed horizontal lines through the screen. Searched through the forums and tried the 8 second and 15 second resets. Now it shows the smiley face when plugged in, and when unplugged shows the smiley face until it dies completely a couple hours later, but the face/screen/button are totally unresponsive to touch. Nobody from Fitbit had responded to my first post, and wondering if they deleted it?! Very disappointed, because I loved this watch.

And I should add my phone won't even find it to try to sync or update either!

The same has as happened to mine. Although I didn’t go swimming. I haven’t got my watch wet at all unless it’s just been splashed while washing up etc. I put it on charge the other day and thought it had charged up, but it came up with the low battery alert again. I thought I’d not turned the plug on so I put it in charge again and the screen went blank. The button won’t click as it’s off. There’s no vibration when I connect it to the charger. I cleaned the connectors as instructed on the trouble shooting page, tried different USB connections and plugs and finally bought a new charger cable in the hope that that was the problem but no luck. Seems the watch itself has died. Gutted. It’s just over 18 months old.

Just to add, I bought it February 2019. Just looked it up.

I'm having the same the issue. All of sudden this week my battery is only lasting a few hours. It charges fine, connects fine and acts appropriate except on lasts few hours. I don't know if there was an update that didn't go well?

Same thing just happened to me and only had it 13 months. I guess that may be just outside guarantee, but seems pretty disappointing to only last this long. Won’t bother buying another one.

Mine just started doing this yesterday too.  I have not gotten it wet.  When I charge it it shows charged 100%, but dies within hours.

Update: Still haven't heard anything from customer service. It was "alive" yesterday but still with lines through it so I tried changing the clock face as someone had suggested and synced it in attempt to update it. There are now more lines than before and basically unreadable, and still drains the battery very quickly--like fully charged to dead in 2 hours. I am ordering an Apple watch because of all the problems and lack of customer service here. Not impressed!

My Charge 3 is fully charged but unresponsive. My phone says I need to set it up, but it’s been set up for a year. Nothing happens when I touch the side button. Nothing happens when I plug it into the charger either.

Same thing has happened to me. My watch is just over a year old. Upset about it and disappointed Fitbit is not responding to this.

What can we do? Is there a number to call and speak to a person? Cheryl

I went onto the live chat and have had some success with getting a response. I bought mine in the EU so have a 2 year warranty and After being sent recovery steps, trying them with no results, I have been offered a replacement. I suggest checking your warranty and attempting the same.

I have same issue....worked great for a little over a year, but now dies in minutes and can't hold charge.

Spent time with a wonderfully helpful customer service rep, but outcome is Fitbit states it's more than one year old, so out of warranty.  Best they will do is 25% off a replacement....UM, Pass on that LOL.

VERY DISAPPOINTING!  I think it was like 200 bucks, so to be totally dead after a year, and very little support from Fitbit?  Terrible.  I"m unequivocally a former Fitbit customer.  My suggestion is to save yourself the frustration and get a different product.

Having the same problem. Purchased in June 2019 also,  My Charge3 is totally unresponsive.  No show when trying to Bluetooth pair.  Even when trying to charge it there is no indication it is doing anything at all.

After trying all the fixes and being unable to get any help from. FITBIT, plus 36 hours on the charger took it off and all it did was vibrate for about 30 seconds then went back to being a BRICK!!!  Good thing I got it on sale, through even after barley a year not even close to to worth half what I paid for it.  It is obvious that FITBIT DOESN’T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT PROFIT!!!  I have yet to see any feedback from them.  Any company worth a crap would monitor these pages and not make it so incredibly difficult to get help for their products.  By this time tomorrow I will no longer be a Fitbit customer.  My trash pickup is tomorrow.

Just replaced mine a few months ago due to similar issues and it's back to the same problem. Black screen - it's a hunk of junk. Useless waste of money. And your customer service is awful. You obviously know there is an issue but yet you don't acknowledge it or put out a release to help troubleshoot. I can't update with the new firmware because it's DEAD!

I've had a Charge 3 which I've used without any problems for at least 12 months now. It's supposed to be capable of measuring swimming and capable down to a depth of 15 metres or so. I've never got the Fitbit wet as I only use it for step count and the sleep data. However, about a week or so ago I forgot to take it off in the shower. It was only on for about a minute at the most .Since then it has become a glorified watch. It has stopped tracking steps, sleep data. Basically all the main things I bought it for. I managed to charge it back up but it can't even be recognised by my phone app.The Fitbit has done a software update just after it was resurrected so I'm not sure if this had any influence on the faults.I'm disillusioned and am not going to use Fitbit anymore.I can't even be bothered to complain to them.
