My charge 3 will not let me increase the brightness to a level I can see. Very dim display, unable to read. Any suggestions?

I went to settings and brightness was the first thing that came up. It said Dim so I swiped and it went to Normal!
Never knew this was there or how I changed it.

@Kristy72 - I had the same issue and didn't see how to fix it until today. These are the instructions to fix from the tracker (can't do it in the app from what I can find). You need to adjust the brightness - it's not related to the Sleep mode like many of us thought.
I did this and went to "normal" and it worked again! Hope it works for you!

I have those same steps numerous times and it hasn't resolved that issue of a dim display and streaks on the bottom of the display. All of this began happening after updating the firmware. Now I have to charge every 2 days instead of once a week. I have seen plenty of other people having the same issues I'm having....has there been anything from the developers?

HI, I have the same problem, but have just had an online chat and Im being sent a new one in 7 days. So it would be worth reporting yours, its infuriating quite honestly, but anyway, at least I dont have to buy a new one !

Hello. I tried the steps above to turn off my device. My device did not vibrate at all. I got a series of dashes and then it shut down. I removed the device from the charging cable and then plugged it back in. When I did that, I did get the smiley icon and t did go on; however, I still cannot read the screen, and I cannot tell how full the battery is.

Ricardo,
We have the same dim face on my wife's Charge 3. I have tried the "Smile" short restart process above, but no change.
I cannot get the Charge 3 to do the long restart process. I hold the button down for 15 seconds. By that time the smile disappears. Then it shows the normal clock face. And nothing else happens. I have also held it down for about 30 seconds after that. Still no battery icon. Nor any vibrations.

Swipe left from clock face to Settings. First one is brightness.

But you have to be able to see the clock face to do anything. Do they deliberately get us to download updates to make the things not work so we have to buy new ones? Seems unbelievable but with so many having this problem and Fitbit not prepared to do anything to help that doesn't involve being able to see the screen it does make me wonder.

My Charge 3 display also went ‘dim’ today. 😞

This unfortunately did not fix the problem. Now what?

I feel the same way. What's the guarantee from fitbit that if I purchase another one it won't do the same thing?
