My charge 3 will not let me increase the brightness to a level I can see.  Very dim display, unable to read.  Any suggestions?

Well, that was the answer to my dim screen. Had no idea that my Fitbit was in sleep mode. I didn’t set it to that setting. And to think I was just complaining to my husband about how bright it is when I go to sleep. Now I know how to turn it on for sleep & turn it off for wear during the day. Thanks so much for this tip.

When you say "This" and there is no other information, I can only assume you have had a discussion with the help moderator and they do not feel anyone else should know what you tried. Communication is the key to our success...or demise.

Worked for me!
After long reset

Maybe try restarting it, or removing your Fitbit from the app, then setting it up again

I did a long restart and changed the settings to normal. It is no longer
dim and I can access exercises.

What do you mean when you say "this"?
I am reading an email and not on the help screen.
What I did was ( after doing a long 15 second reset while plugged into the
charger on a computer USB port) swipe my finger across the face of the
Charge3 (while Time is displayed) to the left of the screen 4 times.
This should display the 3 bar settings icon on the top half of the Charge3
screen.
Tapping once will reveal 2 settings. The top half is the Brightness, the
bottom half is Vibrations.
Everytime I tap the top half, a different Brightness setting is scrolled
through. Depending on what your present setting is, the setting goes
through Dim then Normal then Auto and repeats this sequence until the end
of time itself...or you stop tapping the top of the screen.
Try stopping at the Normal setting. My Fitbit Charge3 became brighter at
this setting.
Pressing the side button once or twice should take you back to the time
display.
As far as time itself, we are all stuck in time, ad infinitum. Enjoy
yourself.

Yeah, same here and no excuse except quality control.  Up to now (9 months) I have been very satisfied, and today WHAM, out of nowhere my display is greatly dimmed.

Hello. I tried Tried to reset and sleep mode thing and none of it worked. I swiped until I found “ settings”. Right there was a brightness setting and mine was set to dim. You have a choice of dim, bright or auto. Mine it great now. How this helps!

I have the same problem, even after a phone session with a Fitbit rep. I still cannot even see what time it is until I close myself into a dark room. I've had to go back to wearing a real watch.

It worked for me.

What, pray tell, is a "real" watch nowadays?

Have you swiped left until your arm falls off to access the settings for
brightness??
They do have a weak customer support method.
If you are still bricked, send it to me! I will add it to the collection.
