Hi is anyone else struggling to read the screen on Charge 3 in the sunshine? Do I need to change the settings?

A warm welcome to the Forums, @DawnBullimore.

If your tracker's display is getting dim, I recommend restarting the unit by following the instructions provided in the help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?.

Also, check the brightness setting by swiping to settings from your Charge 3.

Let me know the outcome. 🙂

Hi Alejandra thanks for getting back to me. My settings are all good and the display is fine indoors. It is when I am outside in the sunshine that I cannot see the fitbit screen. It is worse than my phone and not anywhere as good as my kindle screen. Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem?

Hi thanks for your message – Ive had this issue since last summer – I’ve tried everything changing settings clock faces etc. Hubby as the Versa and you can see his clock face in the sunlight easily.

It was good to read that you had a replacement - does the replacement work in the bright sunshine ?

Thanks again for replying good to know it’s not just me

As a matter of interest how did you get in touch with Fitbit? What method of communication did you use?

Hey no worries at all. Yes the replacement works great (for now 🙂 ) .

Thanks Jogger - good to hear that your new Fitbit is working.

I sent The Fitbit team some photos of my Fitbit side by side with Hubby’s Fitbit out in the sun today. Yo can clearly see his working and mine not.

Hi I’ve sent photos to Fitbit showing my Fitbit side by side with Hubby’s Fitbit today in the sunshine. Fitbit have replied that they will look into the issue.

I have the same issue with my fitbit charger 3 display as well. The replacement piece that I received only work for three months. Now I am facing the same dim issue again.  Not able to see any display in outdoor. Display only visible indoor with low lights condition. Very frustrating!!

Hi Alejandra

Just to say I'm still unable to see the screen on my FitBit outside

Do you know if any of the later models (for ladies) are any better? For example, and as previously mentioned, my Hubby's Versa works fine outside. I'm happy to purchase a new FitBit but only if you can assue me I will be able o see the screen outside.

I look forward to hearing from you

Hi Irely - Dawn here - I logged this same issue many months ago and I'm still awaiting a reply - I have a Charge 3 and i've never been able to see the screen in sunlight although my husband has a Versa and his screen is fine. The only difference is my Charge 3 has a small face and his has a large square screen. Id be happy to upgrade to something else if FITBIT could confirm that the screen is visible in the sunlighht, until then FITBIT is, sadly,  off my list. Best of luck and please keep me posted if you get a reply Thanks

Hi SJ83 - good to hear that you received a replacement - question is could you see the screen in the sunshine? (is it also a Charge 3 or other?)
