I was wondering if a fix has been come up with for the charge 3 blacked out screen. Ive tried changing clock face and rebooting. After I rebooted 10 times, screen came back, but only stayed on for a few minutes. Now its black again.

Hello @rjbrowne, your participation here in the Community Forums is appreciated.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared, your effort troubleshooting your device before posting over here is also appreciated. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation

Yes, heart rate lights flash, it vibrates when restarting, and syncs to app, but the screen stays black.

I'm sorry to know that you're still experiencing difficulties with the display of your Charge 3. Please try our long restart procedure following the next steps and let me know how it goes:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

Keep me posted.

Yes, I have done that many times. Sometimes I can get the display back, but it only stays on for a few minutes and then goes black again.
