Charge 3 does NOT sync/bluetooth

Disgusted. Charge 3 no longer syncs with iPhone bluetooth; I’ve tried all the suggested “solutions” none worked. Spoke to Fitbit - they know about the issue and asked me to be patient until a fix is developed. P.S. Nice to know Fitbit spent time editing my comments here, yet can’t find us all a solution.

Welcome on board @twob, @Crazydoglady98, and @Dmintz83Thanks for your reports with these Android 9.0 syncing difficulties. We’re aware of this ongoing issue and have been working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible. 

 

However, we have some updated troubleshooting suggestions we'd like for you on Android Pie (9.0) to try. 

 

First, turn off Background Restrictions/Limitations: Phone settings > Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app > Background restrictions or Background limits.

 

Then, disable battery limitations:

 

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Fitbit app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization
  2. Change view to All apps
  3. Search for Fitbit app
  4. Choose Not optimized

Please give the steps above a try to improve syncing with your Fitbit device and Android 9.0 OS. We're still researching and testing out long-term solutions to this ongoing syncing issue. We thank you for your patience while we continue to work on this effort.

Hi @Rgmunoz827! The MotoX3 is not yet a supported device with the Fitbit app. Note that the devices on this article have been confirmed as fully compatible with all features of Fitbit devices and the Fitbit app. While a phone or tablet may not be verified as fully compatible, the Fitbit app may still work with your device. 

 

I'd recommend following the troubleshooting steps at: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

 

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance.

Having same issues!! Will not sync with iPhone X was fine and then stopped working

Having the same problem with mine (this is the 3rd time since December 2018) plus my alarms fail to go off despite being enabled. These issues are sporadic and seem to occur after I’ve charged my Fitbit but don’t happen every time it’s charged. Really not impressed as I had no issues whatsoever with my previous Fitbit (Charge 2) and beginning to wish I hadn’t wasted my money upgrading.

Exactly the same problem with my Charge 3. I never had any problems with my old Charge 2, and I didn't have any problems with my Charge 3 before. But the last few weeks ... So annoying! Is it too much to ask for a fast solution (yes, I have tried the steps and it hasn't solved anything) since this seems to happen to a lot of people?

Same here, I wish I haven’t changed to Charge 3! My Charge 2 was working much better than this supposedly “upgraded” version. I’ve tried everything but nothing worked. I’m using iPhone too

  • Are you having syncing issues or pairing issues with the Charge 3?
  • When did they start happening?
  • What device are you using to try and sync? Do you have access to other device to try it?

My issue is syncing. Started with two updates ago on iOS. Using an iPhone 8. Essentially I haven’t been able sync since March 6 the day I did the iOS update to the app.

I am on an iPhone XR and all was fine until last Thursday, it says it’s connected but will not sync at all. Getting very frustrating

It is with the pairing with the blue tooth as well as the sync . Probably for about a month

Same here.  Worked great for a week.  I got the C3 to have better heart-rate record than the Blaze.  Mine seems to sync data at times but no longer does notifications.  Can't get to the notification menu, etc.  Ugh.

I am having the same problems, tried everything, and was told to be patient as well!  Also, the steps per hour show up and then disappear but are on my tracker.  Never had problems with my old Fitbit and I too am incredibly frustrated.

I have an older iphone 5c.  I get that it's and old phone.  I received my charge 3 for christmas.  It worked fine, I was getting the text and call notifications.  After about 10 days.  It all stopped.  Since then, I have issues sycning on any devise. I have tried my iphone, my windows 10 laptop which is 2 years old and my samsung tablet that is about 2 years old.

My Fitbit has not synced since Saturday. I finally have steps for today but I'm not getting nothing back from Sunday Monday Tuesday or Wednesday.  I never this problem with my charge 2. Extremely frustrated

I have been having trouble with my charge 3 for about 3 weeks. At first it wouldn't sync and updates repeatedly failed, stating it could not find the charge 3.  I attempted to re-pair the device by removing it from the app and then pairing again but now the pairing process fails. It gets to the screen where I input the code from the charge 3 to the phone, begins to show pairing ( triangle made of small dots on the charge screen) then never finishes and the charge goes back to the main menu after about a minute and the app just continues "pairing" but not doing anything. I have tried rebooting the device from the settings menu, doing a hard reset by holding the side button until the smile comes on the screen, deleting and re-downloading the app but have made no progress. I bought about 4 of these as Christmas gifts for family this year and now am very embarrassed this issue is happening. Any fixes coming from Fitbit's side?

 

Update: So after multiple attempts I managed to get it to connect to my phone. Try erasing your user data from the charge 3, do this by going into the setting menu then the "about " section. I have to try this a few times but it did work the 3rd time. Let me and others know if this solved it for you. Apparently all I had to do was complain publicly before the tech decided to cooperate! Good luck. It is now updating and if it fails again after I will update.

Hi there. I've had several fitbit's from the flex to the Alta and now the charge 3. I've always had problems off and on with syncing but it's always been fixed. It's been 3 days now since Monday and my Fitbit will not sync. I'm very upset as I really use this for my fitness pal and everything. And it also tells me about my sleep that I always follow. There is nothing I've tried everything and I cannot get it to work. I have the Samsung Galaxy 9. Please help.
