Charge 3 doesn't show bluetooth pair code

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Why is it so difficult to find the Charge 3 Bluetooth pair code.

I have seen it posted in a answer that the code was on the device.

What does that mean?

My Charge 3 does not show up on connected devices on my phone.

It has been taking a long time and multiple tries to sync then I went a few days without syncing now it will not sync.

Also the Charge 3 is very dim can hardly read it.

Thanks,

Ralph

@Ralphxyz Thanks for stopping by!

Let me help you with this. I think there is a misunderstanding, when setting up your tracker you don't do it from the bluetooth settings, you do it from the Fitbit app where it will request the 4 digit code from the tracker and the tracker should show it. I suggest you clear the connection between your phone and your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Also the restart should help with the screen issue.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the reply, sorry about the late response.

RE: Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting
your Fitbit app.

How would I know? How would I do that?

Re: check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps >
Fitbit > permissions)

The Fitbit app does not appear on the apps list!

Yesterday before I asked for the four digit pairing code I had tried to
install a new device and had deleted the existing device but failed because
I did not have the pairing code.

@Ralphxyz thank you for your reply.

Regarding the first question, you will need to consult with your phone's instruction manual or documentation as this is part of the Android OS.

For the second question you can usually search for the app or if not please share a screenshot of the "F" area (it should be listed in alphabetical order so let me see which apps that start with F show there.

I look forward to your reply.

Thanks for the reply!

The app was not listed. I followed a Permissions link and found Fitbit as
not being allowed.
I changed the permission to allowed and Fitbit appeared in the Apps listing.

I removed the app and reinstalled.

I cannot pair with bluetooth!

How do I pair with bluetooth?

@Ralphxyz thank you for your reply.

Is your tracker syncing with your Fitbit app. You won't be able to directly pair your tracker to your phone's bluetooth settings as the link in handled by the Fitbit app. As long as it is syncing with the app you don't need to do anything else. If you don't see the tracker on your app because it is still unpaired (that means that was removed from your account) then please set it up again by following these instructions.

I look forward to your reply.
