Charge 3 failed to count steps

Have worn new Charge 3 for 2 weeks. Today I was 5 steps away from my goal. Battery was low. I removed Fitbit and charged it. When I put it back on I walked at least 200 steps, but the count did not advance by even 1 step. (Note: I had this problem with my old Charge 2, also. Sometimes thumping the screen would make the counter advance.) Tonight with this Charge 3 I removed the Fitbit and put it back on my wrist one notch tighter on my wrist. It immediately began to count steps. It is really too tight on my wrist. I’m going to loosen it one notch and hope it continues to count steps.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Lois0621.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing the issue you've experienced with your Charge 3 not counting steps. I appreciate the additional details and I am glad to assist you. I would like to advise that sometimes, when you start walking, your steps may not update on your device right away. After about 10-15 continuous steps, you'll notice the steps catch up and start updating in real time with each step you take. For more information about accuracy of Fitbit devices, see How accurate are Fitbit devices?

I recommend restarting your device by following the steps from this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device? Please also make sure your device is syncing

I also recommend following the steps from this help article to make sure you're wearing your Fitbit device correctly: How do I wear my Fitbit device?

Keep me posted on the outcome. I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
