Hi,

Apart from negative the floor count, is there going to be any resolution to this? I see it's been an issue for over 6 months now. My Charge 3 is just 15 days old and I am facing this floor count an Issue.

It's great to see you around @Shailaja.

Your device may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors.

If you want to remove floors from your account, I recommend taking a look at the help article: How do I delete steps and floors? and follow the instructions provided there.

But cant there be a solution to this

Also the latest thing which I am seeing in my tracker is and on the app is

My active minutes for today are 29 minutes but in my exercise it shows me 40 minutes

And I have just walked continuously for over 10 minutes but the tracker has not tracked this

No no I have not accepted the solution at all

So I tried negating the floors today by entering an exercise as driving.it did work partly and  my floor count came down from 3 to 1..still.not accurate

But it also reduce my steps walk from 5600.to 4300 or something like that

I am.not at all happy with this. Pls find a solution and a proper resolution to this issue

Hi. I just walked a 27 km flat hike with my boyfriend. He has a charge 2 and I have a charge 3. For the same walk he has a floor count of 5 and I had a floor count of 182. 😂😂  I don’t think this issue has been resolved yet....

Best Answer

It's not resolved..I clicked in resolved by mistake a d marked a new one. But looks like no one is looking into this issue

I have a similar issue. I have an Ionic, my wife a Charge 3. We went on a couple of walks and my Ionic registered 13 floors, her charge over 70.

Ive had various reasons for this, ranging from my wife being shorter than me, atmospherics, stride length etc, but nothing vaguely plausible.

It just seems to me that the charge 3 can't accurately record altitude changes.

It is just nonsense, it seems like the Charge 3 is just guessing (and being pretty crap at it), if i wouldn't know better i would say the the charge 3 is the companies first attempt at a fitness tracker. It is just crap.

Had mine for a week, results are inaccurate as hell and the thing allready blacked out on me once. There are 25$ fitness trackers out there that do a better job than this piece of junk!!!

Hey Firbit fumblers... at least give us the option to change the floor count manually so that we can remove the crap your device registers wrongly!

I’ve been using Fitbit charge 3 for a week. Have not changed my fitness routine dramatically but steps have gone thru the roof. When will this be fixed!

seems to be a complaint from others too. I really like this feature but it’s pretty useless at the moment and also makes me doubt the veracity if the other data

please sdvise.

I agree with all these comments. The floor count is ridiculous. I’ve had FitbitHR and Fitbit charge for last 3 years. Just got the charge 3. This is the first time I’ve had any complaints.

Is the Versa any better?

My Charge 3 gives me very different floor counts / elevation every single time I do my same 5.5km (approx) walk, ranging from 8m to 19m to 70m!

Today it is the first time ever it gave me a 3m elevation change, which is close to what www.mappedometer.com has been telling me all along.  Although the max and min elevations still differ but this is the first time the Charge 3 connected GPS reports a reasonable elevation and floor counts after my walk.  I am almost in tears as I am typing this.

BTW I am using firmware 1.60.39 iOS app 2.95 (839).  I am not updating after reading all the horror stories of updates bricking the Charge 3 (sync, battery drain, blank screen issues).  I can live without these.

It looks like it has been solved after the last update. After downloading the last version the count of the stairs are much lower than before and more accurate. 🙂

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll check that I have the latest upgrade and look at the stair count again. I’ve been ignoring that feature because of the inaccuracy. Hope the update works.

When I first got my charge 3,  over counted floors by 3x to 5x.   Starting 10 days ago, it's over counting by 10x to 15x  (a week ago my floor count was 388!).
