I cannot get my Charge 3 to send text notifications.  I have rebooted device, done a forget device on my Bluetooth on phone.  Nothing is working.  Does it just not work on an Apple iPhone 7?

Now my Charge 3 is connected via Bluetooth only when syncing with my iPhone.  After a while, the connection is lost and my phone goes into searching mode running down the battery.

Thanks for the note.  I am so terribly disappointed in my Charge 3 right now.  I had an Alta and wanted to upgrade.  I just got this Charge 3 in April of this year.  Part of my fitness routine is swimming and so I was very happy with the ability to wear during my swimming routine.  Also, I needed a device that would alert me to text receipts.

I’m now primarily walking as a routine and so primary need is text notifications.  This is very sad for me that my primary need is not being met and from all of the other replies that I have seen, this last firmware update or whatever has really done a number on most people’s Fitbit devices.

sad in TN....

So out of the blue, I got my first text notification in over two weeks!  I was using Bluetooth to listen to a book in the  car when it came thru. Don’t know if it will last.

Still have no account icon on the app.

Hi there @vfwelch! I totally understand how you feel.

Thanks for letting us know that you received a text message while listening to a book in the car.

Please keep in mind that if your phone is managing multiple Bluetooth products like speakers or headsets paired to your phone along with your Fitbit device, you may have trouble using more than one at the same time. Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.

In the meantime, please take a look at the help article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone

I'll be around if there's anything else I may do to assist you with.

When I am in the house, the only connected device is my Charge 3 but it was in the car while using Bluetooth to listen to an audiobook on my iPhone that I received the first text notification in ages.

altho I am glad that the notifications are happening, I am not at a place where I can trust that the notifications will continue.  Especially after the steps that I tried while trying to restore the notifications.  If it should go off the deep end again, I imagine that I will be seeing a different vendor.  I’m sad to think of it because I have enjoyed the Charge 3 but receiving text notifications is of utmost importance to me.

I have an iPhone 8 and my charge 3 never has and still won’t show notifications! Am I doing something wrong?

Only had my Fitbit 3 days, yesterday I was receiving text and calls all day to it. Today, no calls or texts and when I click in the notifications on the pp I see this message ' 'Notification Service Not running. A phone restart I still required to re-enable notifications to your tracker'

I've restarted 4 times! Still getting this message! What's going on Fitbit? I have a Huawei p20 lite, but as I said it was working yesterday?

Hello there @Schoolterp. Please follow the troubleshooting steps provided below:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app
  3. Tap on Account > Charge 3 > Notifications
  4. When a pop-up with a "Bluetooth Pairing Required" message, tap on Set Up and continue.
  5. A new "Bluetooth Pairing Request" will appear, tap on Pair to continue
  6. Once in the Notifications menu, enable the ones you'd like to receive.
  7. Go to your phone Settings > Notifications > Fitbit and make sure the following is enabled:
    • Allow Notifications
    • Show on Lock Screen
    • Show in Notification Center
    • Show in Banners

In case that you don't receive notifications after following the steps above, I'd recommend taking a look at the help article: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone.

Hey there @RachL, thanks for coming back. To make sure your Fitbit device syncs and receives notifications from your Android phone, open the Settings app on your phone and confirm or adjust the following settings:

  • Turn off background restrictions or limitations:
    1. Go to Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app
    2. Tap Background restrictions or Background limits to turn off the setting.
  • Turn off battery limitations:
    1. Go to Apps > Fitbit app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization.
    2. Change the view to All apps.
    3. Search for the Fitbit app and choose Not optimized.
  • Turn on location services and allow the Fitbit app to access your location. For more information, see Why is the Fitbit app prompting me to turn on location services?

Let me know if you need further assistance.

I have completed all the recommendations as suggested.  Since the iOS 13 upgrade, the most phone Charge 3 has been able to do is provide weather updates, the time and when I make a call out.  Other then that, I do not receive any notifications.  I have been reading some comments in the forum and would like clarification as to if or when this will be resolved?  I have been with Fitbit for a number of years and honestly disappointed that this has happen and that it is taking so long to resolve.  What made this iOS update so different from the others to cause this issue?

Found out mine was my Fitbit, not the update! They are sending me a new one!
