Charge 3 isn't recording sleep score

I can now say C3 has for sure a bug in its sleep measurement algorithm.

Ive now slept with C3 on one wrist and Alta HR on the other  primary sync is with C3, and Alta i then manually synced to see if it could result in sleep score.

I tend to fall asleep quite late in the night, and think C3 has a problem with this but ofcourse cant say for sure, but the only single time C3 gave me a sleepscore was when i had a normal sleeppattern ( going to sleep around midnight ) - all others been no sleep score.

My Alta HR measures every single time, and in my test here syncing with C3 gives me no sleep score, but when then sync the Alta HR on the same night of sleep - almost identical hearrate through the night - bang ! it gives me sleepscore.

So C3 is 100% buggy

please use the code and algorithm from alta HR and get an updated firmware for C3

At least one logic fault in your argument.  You didn't say that you have tried switching wrists.  Couldn't it just as well be the wrist as the tracker?

I already did try changing wrist - this product 100% have an issue with how it measures sleep compared to alta.

One sleepscore out of many compared to Alta,

Alta never ever missed a measurement - C3 managed to do 1 measurement since i got it, all others no-score.

But sync with Alta - smash you get sleepscore on exact same cycles.

Easy verifiable if this product even has a development team but it seems they just wanted to sell their stuff to google instead

All I did was point out an error in your logic when you said you had proven it. Though you may have tested switching wrists, your original did not mention that, leaving the possibility that it was the wrist.

Keep emailing them. They are slow to respond. It took me more than a month to replace my watch

Hi @Sliffer and @GingerLassie. Welcome to the Community forums. @JohnnyRow. it's good to see you around. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

@Sliffer, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the Charge 3 as well for the steps tried on your own to get the sleep score. I'm sorry that you've been having this experience and let me help you with this matter. Since your post didn't mention, may I know if your tracker is generating sleep stages? I'm asking this as you must received sleep stages to see a sleep score.

If you've not received sleep stages, please check the following factors that affect your sleep tracking:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

If the conditions mentioned above don't apply to you, let's try some troubleshooting steps:

  1. On your Charge 3, open the Settings app, find Heart Rate and turn it Off.
  2. Restart your Charge 3.
  3. Turn back On the Heart Rate settings.
  4. Wear your Charge 3 on your non-dominant hand for one night.
  5. Once you wake up, sync your tracker and check your sleep details.

These are standard replies that been on for ages, like try restarting
windows and been pasted in each of the many threads that complain about c3
- Why dont you get into specific detail on datasets why it cant get a
sleepscore because numbers seems consistant enough ? I can pass you on my
sleepdata on the sleeps it didnt register and can you then give me a reply
so i understand exactly why the algorithm fails in that case ?

Now i just had 2 days where C3 can get a sleepscore, thats about 3rd time
now since i purchased it didnt change anything at all - just randomly
works, majority of the time it hasnt.

Is it possible for you to come up with a detailed answer on long sleeps
where C3 cant get a sleepscore and explain in detail why by referencing
"here its because heart jumps, etc etc" ?

Hi @Sliffer. Thanks for getting back and I'm sorry for the delay.

The information posted above was just to make sure the conditions to receive sleep stages and sleep scores were met. I appreciate you for confirming that the sleep scores are the ones inconsistent when using your Charge 3 to sleep and if the same keeps happening despite the steps suggested above, I'll need you to take a screenshot of the days that didn't record sleep scores and attach them in your reply. Also, please provide me with your phone's model and version, as well with the Fitbit app version. These details will help me to further investigate.
