Charge 3 not counting steps accurately.

I getting extremely frustrated with my charge 3. I have reset numerous times. I have deleted app numerous times. I have tried switching wrists. It worked great when I first got it in October and hasn't really worked correctly since after Christmas. I have often been on my feet for 12 to 14 hours in a day and somehow I only did 1,000 steps? Makes no sense. Wondering if there is another solution or should I try to return?

Hi @Jackie222  Ooooh thatis not sounding good at all. Have you tried a Long Restart? Give that a go, but I will also flag your post for a moderators assistance.

CHARGE 3 LONG RESTART
Plug the device into the charging cable. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, hold the button down for 15 seconds. Remove your finger from button. Note: Device won't have a smiley face icon and should be off with a black screen. Remove the device from the charging cable. Plug the device into the charging cable again. The smiley face icon appears on the screen.

Hello @Jackie222, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community, it's great to see you around too @NellyG, thanks for all your help. Smiley Happy

@Jackie222 I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for sharing your experience with us. Please note that Fitbit devices have a finely tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking. The algorithm determines whether a motion's size is large enough by setting a threshold. If the motion and its subsequent acceleration measurement meet the threshold, the motion will be counted as a step. If the threshold is not met, the motion won’t be counted as a step, which is why when you grab on the sides of the treadmill your steps stop getting tracked.

Now, with that said, please try the troubleshooting steps @NellyG has kindly provided and monitor your Charge 3. If you notice your steps are not getting counted correctly, please let us know so we can check this further.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, have a great day.

I'm having the same problem.  I walk 200 steps and it counts maybe 70....I walk 100 steps and it may count 30 of them.  Or sometimes I walk 50 steps and it doesn't count any of them.  My original Fitbit Flex was more accurate than this expensive Charge 3.

I don't even bother with stair count anymore as that's NEVER accurate.  Was on an 8 hour road trip and it said I climbed 20 flights of stairs.

And for some reason, the other night, it gave me the old sleep graph rather than the new one with sleep stages.
