I want to use the Charge 3 while rowing on a Concept 2 Egonometer. Tried it today with the Elliptical chosen as the specific exercise and started on the watch.
I had gotten that info by searching this fine forum. HR and calories info seems spot on but it tells me I did 2876 steps. Well in 30 minutes I’d did 780 strokes and 5004 meters. This was a structured, repeatable test.
So is there an exercise setting that will measure and record HR, calories and duration, and record either.
a) the 780 strokes as steps or
b) no steps at all
I will not be manually entering info. All my rowing info info is captured by a separate spectacular app called ErgData.
Thanks in advance,
Larry

Hey @Dove37, it's great to welcome you.
I appreciate all the efforts in searching for info on how register this exercise. Keep in mind that your tracker will register steps depending on your hand movements and with a indoor rower you have a lot of those.
My recommendation here is to try working with SmartTrack. In this way your tracker will automatically detect your exercise and then you can just edit the name of it.
Catch you later.

Hi Alejandra. I wish you would have answered the question directly. At the moment there is no way in fitbit to add a rower as new exercise type. The best one could do is pretend it is something else and manually enter. Users have been asking for years to add rowing as a exercise and we would have thought that a software update would have done this years ago. Ot sure why the resistance at Fitbit but it is bizarre and certainly costing sales. Perhaps you can press internally?

I too have requested this multiple times with no responses.
