Ok so the device is outdated so it is no longer compatible with Fitbit sorry

Have you looked at the tips? You mention an update, but nothing about what update, phone, Fitbit App, or Charge 3? Often with a phone or app update, permissions get reset.
There are also some android tips worth reading.
My phone is an S8 and almost 4 years old.
