Charge 3 not showing sleep score

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi guys, once again I’m new to Fitbit. The first night I wore my Charge 3 to bed, it tracked my sleep and I could easily access me sleep score.

However since then the app has not been giving me my sleep score and it rates it as ‘0’. It’s really frustrating and I have tried logging in and out of the app, resetting the Fitbit and even deleting the app and reinstalling it.

Can anyone advise me on what is happening? Should I return the device or is Fitbit going to fix the issue with an update?

It's great to see you around, @TheoFit3.

I understand how are you feeling and appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this sleep issue. Can you please provide me with a screenshot of what you are seeing?.

I hope to hear from you soon. 🙂

Thanks for the update and for the screenshot, @TheoFit3.

You must see sleep stages in order to see a sleep score and for the screenshot you provided, I can notice that you are not receiving sleep stages.

There are a few scenarios where you might see your sleep pattern (which shows your time asleep, restless, and awake) instead of sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Let me know the outcome. 🙂

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback... however none of this helps. I make sure that my Fitbit is placed on my arm as instructed and none of the other mentioned potential inhibitors have impacted this. Is the device faulty or can you advise me on other possible solutions?

I too have been having the same issue. This has been happening even before the new sleep score. Rarely do I get a reading on my sleep stages anymore. Most every night I only get the basic sleep details. And when I do get the stages I always get 0 min for REM and 0 for Deep.

It worked fine for the first year or so, but following one of the last updates it has rarely registered anything but Basic Sleep. And the new Sleep Score has only worked twice.

inhave been using Fitbit for over three years. I wear it the same all the time and I have had no issues until the last big update. I have rebooted the device several times and tried wearing it differently but nothing helps. And like I said it worked fine and gave me full stage reading nearly every night before the update.

My fitbit also did not record my sleep score last night and has been every night for the past 2 1/2 weeks. It kept track of the hours slept but not the sleep score. I have been trying to keep an eye on the sleep score to see how my sleep affects my day and how I feel each day. Seems like there is something going on with the app as there are quite a few people having the same issue. I wear my fitbit in the same place all the time and the battery was not as low as it has been before (and when it was lower it still tracked the sleep score). Hopefully, this glitch can be fixed as I know I like to see this kind of information. It is useful.

I forgot to mention that I do not see the sleep score option in my settings so I am not sure why

I have the exact same problem. I bought the charge 3 mainly to track my sleep patterns so this is disappointing

Hi ... this issue is the same on mine, a Charge 3. It was a Christmas gift, so I’m only 4 sleeps in, but it worked with sleep stages on the first night and not since. I thought it was a settings thing, but it seems not. Thanks for reporting the issue, I’ll keep an eye on the responses.

Hello,

I am also not getting a sleep score. It worked the first night and has failed to work every night since.

Hi all, I’ve got my sleep score back, I went to sleep last night without logging “Begin Sleep Now” and then “I am awake” in the morning.... I just let the Fitbit figure out that I was asleep, and have woken up to a sleep score 😁

I am having the same issue and have had no response. Does anyone know how to fix this? Very disappointed in this product so far as this is why I was given it, to track my sleep patterns.

i’ve been having the same trouble with my Fitbit, I recently exchange the watch under warranty. The Fitbit rep said that it was a product glitch the new watch work for a while and is back to giving me no sleep score. It’s very frustrating my warranty is good for another year. I was going to call Fitbit today and try to figure it out yet again!

I had some Chinese tracker before and I  didn’t even have sleep tracking  problem. Upgraded to fitbit but disappointed now. Sleep score is so intermittent, work some days and some days not. I hope fitbit is reading this and got plans to look into this and also fix it.

Fitbit is doing nothing about this. As you have noticed they are not concerned about fixes now that they have been bought out by Google. They also added the pay for Premium that tracks your sleep and breathing, they want you to use the upgrade Premium or purchase a new watch.

I agree. After reading multiple posts and other threads. Fitbit Support has been virtually useless. They tend to say the same things we can read ourselves verbatim in the app. “If you slept less than....If you press ‘begin sleep now’ if you slept in wrong position...” yadda yadda. OR they say we know about the issue and are working on it. After a couple of years? My Charge 2 quit reporting stages after a year, bought a 3, now it is stopping again. Tired of digging for help so hosing to buy a similar device from a well known competitor that gets great reviews on their sleep feature. That is one of the most important features To me. Very disappointed with device and poor support.

Thank you for reply. I continue to have issues, I am considering an Apple
Watch. If you can share which devices are you looking at? Be well and safe!

Same for me for last 3 days. Basic sleep details, no score. I have tried every fix suggested multiple times and still no sleep score.

App has also stopped showing anything except resting heart rate for 3 days, but if I click on the graph for Thursday I can scroll through and see my heart rate is actually still being recorded, just not displayed.

Device is only 2 months old and has worked perfectly til now, it is meant to last 2 years.
