Is anyone having issues getting messages and phone calls on their fitbit? I’ve rebooted it and it’s syncing my steps, but when I click notifications on the app to customise them it won’t go to the next page. Nothing. ??

I'd recommend following the suggested troubleshooting steps for notifications in the following help article:
How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
On a side note, my team is aware of an issue affecting the notifications settings screen on the Fitbit App. In this case the screen will not progress when tapping on it. The workaround suggested is about uninstalling the Fitbit App and reinstall it. There is a strong chance this will work.
