Charge 3 recording steps when not worn

Hello,  My Charge 3 has recorded that I have walked over 2,500 steps today.  That is real interesting considering that it has been on top of my dresser all day.  I have not picked up or worn since last night.  I decided to put it on before my walk, and discovered that I had already walked 2,500 steps today.

What can I do about this?  Thanks!

Was it somewhere with a lot of vibrations, like next to a fan?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I have more information. This started happening about a week ago.  I restarted my device 2 days ago.  And, today, 2,500 steps.

No, no fan.  The dresser is on the top floor of your house.  The dresser is not touching the wall.
