So I have my charge 3, overall I do like it. Pretty much everything is working as intended.
My only two complaints:
- The Clock Faces (as mentioned by many)
- The Brightness (The "Lighter Gray" areas aren't readable at all when out side in the sunlight no matter what brightness it's set on... This is a major problem as I can't see my time or distance when walking outside and forget about it if I'm wearing sunglasses. I understand this is probably a feature to help save battery life but it makes this fitbit very difficult to use in any real world needs. If there was an option for MAX brightness or B&W or gray scale this would fix this issue.)
Regards,
Cyric

Hey there @Cyric, thanks for jumping in here! On Charge 3, you can manage basic settings including brightness, heart rate, and button sensitivity directly on your tracker. Open the Settings app and tap a setting to adjust it. Swipe up to see the full list of settings.
If you want to get more information about the basic settings of Charge 3, check here (page 16-20) to see the manual.

@MarreFitbit
Please read the original post, I know how to adjust the brightness. The problem is the "Gray Scaled" text can not be seen when out side during the day no matter what brightness setting the fitbit is on.

Just an update, I went for another walk today... it's pretty overcast and I could barely see the distance and time text. I could see the dynamic field text but that was pure white but the other two were the grey color that I couldn't see at all.

I don't have the screen timeout option on mine. Also the digital clock faces are 12 hrs out although the analogue is correct. Can't find how to change either 🙁

I had my charge on Max brightness when on my walk this morning. I too cannot read whatever text is not pure white. It is not visible at all.
Might I suggest that someone from fitbit take a charge 3 out into the bright sunlight on max brightness and see for themselves that the text that is not pure white, like the steps and HR are not visible. Both of those items are very important when exercising
I did like the suggestion above.

Well, I received my Charge 3 yesterday..."upgrading" from a Charge 2
I will do a more complete review once I have checked everything.... BUT there is one HUGE issue
There have been numerous complaints regarding the horrid selection of five clock faces.....
Today I used the Charge 3 outside in the sunlight... The part of the display that has full brightness
is barely readable..a little better than the Charge 2... but the greyscale areas..totally not visible in the sunlight al all.
Example... I used the "Asymmetrical Clock" version...I could read the time, but steps and heart rate were not visible at all.
Neither the "Auto" nor the "Normal" settings helps. By the way...the "Normal brightness setting seems to be 100% brightness all the time.
SO.. after a couple of days testing all the functionality, I will call Customer support...
Unless there will be clock face options that look like the Charge 2 faces where ALL the display is fully 100%, My Charge 3 will be going back. I wonder if the Charge 3 had ANY actual product testing OUTDOORS... this was obvious that half of the screen could not be read outside if anyone had actually used it outside.

@Cyric thanks for calling this out and creating the feature suggestion, it's the best way to get eyes on this. I will be passing this information on to our team.
@Gillery27, @Brian.H there was a thread created on the Screen Time Out option missing by @SunsetRunner. I responded here and will be updating as I learn more.

I dealt with the gray text issue by switching to the HR clock face, which has all white numbers. Would have gone with the one with time only, but I don't really like how the numbers look even though they're bigger.

honestly for me it's not the watch faces as much as the exercises... For instance there are 3 fields when you use the walk exercise. At the top is your distance (in gray), bottom is the time (also gray) and in the middle is the dynamic field which you can change what you see.. pace, avg pace, distance, HR, time, and so on but you have to scroll though them (this is in white) if all three fields were in white it would be great.
lets face it if you are on a brisk walk or running you don't need to be spending extended time to squint or shade the screen to try and read specific data like time or distance...

@Gillery27- on the Fitbit app go to Account (ID card type icon in the top right) > Advanced Settings and there should be an option for time format (this isn't true of the iOS app but your signature says you're using a Samsung Galaxy so hopefully it will be there)

I disagree there is a solution that is acceptable. I have now gone to make brightness normal. The time is bolder but the small font on the steps is still not bright enough to compensate for the claimed increase on brightness.
Inthink major improvements need done here.

It's not really the brightness that's a problem it's the color of the font. If the font was White instead of Gray it would fix this issue completely.
