My charge 3 is dim around the edges and overall does not get bright enough to read outdoors. I have adjusted the brightness in the menu but it seems like the screen is going to die soon. Because the brightness varies across the display, I don’t think it’s a settings issue. Does anyone have any ideas?

Good to see you participating in the community @Mh23456789.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and for your efforts trying to adjust brightness in the menu.
Even if you don't think that is a settings issue and because your post didn't mention, please can you confirm if the Sleep Mode is turned off? Take in mind that the screen's brightness is set to dim when this setting is on. To check this, press and hold the button, swipe left to access the quick settings screen and tap the moon icon to turn it on or off.
Additionally, I'd recommend restarting your tracker to refresh its performance. Please follow the steps described in this help article and monitor its behavior in the next days.

Hello -
Thanks for the reply. Sleep mode was not turned on, however in my attempt to check on this, I turned sleep mode on and now the screen is completely black and I can not see anything or turn sleep mode off. Im currently in doors where I can typically see a very dim screen, which is especially dim around the edges.

Hello -
I was able to turn off sleep mode and reboot the device but the screen is still dim, especially around the edges. I checked the screen brightness and it is set to auto.
I have also tried multiple clock faces.
thanks again.

I have the same issue. Mine has been getting worse for months. It started with not being able to see it outdoors and I can now barely see it indoors.
My guess is the old pixels are slowly dying. Mine is 5 years old so it's had a good run. OLEDs do get dimmer as they age, and as these screens turn on and off a lot they've probably reach end of life. This would explain why only parts of the screen are dim. If I try to read a message on my charge 3 I can see half of some letters fine while others are almost invisible.
If it is this then there's nothing we can do unfortunately. Just another thing to add to my pile of dead/broken Fitbit devices...

I think you’re probably right - it may just be the end of its life. I think I’ve had this one for 3 years or so. I’ll be sad to see it go!
