Charge 3 screen has become dim and it doesn't vibrate with notifications

Had my Fitbit for a little while (less than a year) and never had a problem with the screen or phone notifications.

Now the screen is so dim, I can see anything and it does not vibrate for any calls, messages, etc.

I have tried a long restart which has not made a difference.

Hi there @MrsCobby, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for restarting your Charge 3 prior to contacting us.

About the dimmer screen, we’re currently working to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.

In regards to your tracker not vibrating when receiving notifications, have you tested the vibration motor? Your Fitbit device vibrates to alert you at various times, including if you set an alarm, when you hit your step goal, or if you haven’t met your hourly activity goal.

If your device didn't alert you, make sure you successfully set an alarm. For more information, see How do I manage alarms on my Fitbit device?

If you correctly set the alarm or aren’t receiving other alerts, test your device’s vibration motor by connecting the device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?

Please open the Settings app and confirm or adjust the following settings:

  • Bluetooth—Verify that Bluetooth is on.
  • Do Not Disturb—This feature prevents your phone from sending notifications. Verify that Do Not Disturb is off. Find this setting under Sound and notification.
  • Notifications—To see notifications from your phone on your Fitbit device, your phone must receive phone, text, calendar, and app notifications. Check these settings:
    • Make sure your phone receives notifications while locked. Find this setting under Sound and notification.
    • If your Fitbit device can receive app notifications, make sure you receive app notifications on your phone. For example, to receive Facebook notifications on your Fitbit device you first must receive them on your phone. Find the notifications permissions under Sound and notification.

I did have a similar situation with my gmail notifications, until I realized I had set the gmail notification on my phone to silent (in addition to displaying the little mail icon when an email came in).  So, I changed that to vibrate instead of silent.

Also, note that most Fitbit devices don’t receive notifications when you turn on the Do Not Disturb, Quiet hours, or Driving mode setting on your phone. Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, and Fitbit Versa receive notifications, but your device won’t alert you. Swipe down to see your notifications.

Thanks for your help @SunsetRunner. 😉

Hello

I put my Fitbit on charge today and now it is completely dead. No responsiveness on the screen, no vibration or screen activity when I press the side button, will not sync with my phone.

It is less than 1 year old. Can I get a replacement as it is now completely unusable.

I am having the same issue. My fitbit battery died back in December. I just found the charger. Had it plugged in overnight, and still nothing. It won't sync to my phone, won't vibrate. Display only shows when plugged in and side button held for 5-10 seconds. So frustrating!!!
