Charge 3 screen too dim to read

100% charged. All functions work but display is unreadable or barely so in dark room. Is there any way to increase the brightness? Apparently, this is a common problem.

hi @DENBOAZ yes it is a common problem... follow these steps in order to increase the brightness

1: turn on your Fitbit Charge 3 device

2:go to settings

3: go down to brightness and turn the brightness from dim to light

enjoy!!!

Sure, if I could only see "Settings" on the screen, I'd do that.

@DENBOAZ I hope you're doing well!

Sorry to hear that your Charge 3 screen is too dim. Try restarting your tracker by doing the following:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Disconnect your tracker from the charging cable.

@Akas thank you for your help in this matter.

Let me know how it goes.

Managed to see "Sleep" and Brightness" in a VERY dark room. Worked temporarily but now 12 hours later display is dim again. I guess that's how Fitbit is convincing me to buy a Charge 4.

Nope! That doesn't work but I've gotten the brightness to increase for awhile then it reverts to very dim.
Gave up and ordered a Charge 4...probably Fitbit's plan.

I’ve tried this in a dark room and can see ‘settings’ at all. Surely I can do this from the app like changing the clock face?

I tried this and it had no impact. The screen is working it’s just too faint to read easily!

Changing settings from dim to normal worked. Thank you

I am having the same problem with my Fitbit3 being very dim, I have done what you said and it is still very dim and I have not alarm.  I have just about had enough of this,  single mom and cant afford a charge 4 but I hate that I have spend this money on it plus tons of bands.  I hope we can figure this out

My settings were on auto and my screen seemed to switch to dim mode at the
most inopportune times. Sometimes I could get it to go to normal mode by
turning it on and off - very irritating. I wish it had a bright mode too, so
I could see it when I'm running/walking outside. And while I'm on a wish
list, it would be very useful to have an "Always on" selection for the
display as it's a royal pain to keep turning it on to keep track of your
pulse while running/walking.
