Charge 3 screen too dim

Hi everyone,  specially to the suppoŕt,

I bought my charge 3 august 2023 internationally and now my screen has no display. i mean there is a display but you need to be in a dark room in order to see the display but you cannot tell whats on the disply since its very dim.

Hi there, @brucewayne01. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this! 

As a first approach, I'd recommend checking whether your Charge 3 is in sleep mode. When sleep mode is on:

  • Notifications, goal celebrations, and reminders are muted.
  • The screen's brightness is set to dim.
  • The screen stays dark when you turn your wrist. To wake your tracker, firmly tap the screen twice.
  • The sleep mode icon illuminates in quick settings.


If the above doesn't describe your issue, please try the steps below:

  1. From the Today tab in the Fitbit app, tap the devices icon at the top-left corner.
  2. Tap your Fitbit device image. 
  3. Near the bottom of the page, tap Sync Now.

If the above doesn't work, please restart your Fitbit device once again as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? Note: Restarting the device doesn’t delete any data. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

Hi Marre, i think i have a hardware problem.

i tried many troubleshooting, but nothing worked. 

it you can see something on the screen but barely see whats on the display.

I have the same issue, the screen is so dim I can't see to check the time or the settings.  It's impossible to change the settings if you can't see them.  I have tried everything suggested on the various threads to no avail.  This is my second charge 3 - I lost the first one when the strap broke and it dropped from my wrist without me knowing.

I was so frustrated with the device.  Ended up I bought a new device.

I went through all the steps you've listed above; but didn't work.  When I am in a dark room, I was able to read the time; but when I am outside or lighted area, it doesn't work.
