Charge 3 screen went blank

The screen on my Charge 3 is completely black. It’s been dimming for months, but this week it went completely black. I’ve tried several options from the forums including changing the clock, short reset and long reset. I can’t confirm if the long reset works because there’s nothing on the screen to indicate if it’s trying to reset. The MOST pressing issue right now is that I can no longer edit the alarms from my iPhone app, you have to use the Fitbit. I am a night shift nurse and need the vibrating alarm to wake me (but not my husband or baby!) How can I access the alarms without a screen? I’ll try to reach out to customer service when I’m awake during business hours in a couple days.

Mine did it too, but it’s been a couple weeks. From what I saw on the message boards A LOT of people are having this issue and it doesn’t seem to matter how long you’ve had it or how you use it. I called customer support, I’d already tried the same things as you with no luck. Customer support was not particularly helpful, told me to do the same thing I’d already done, which I did but of course the screen is black which I tried to tell her, but then we had to time how long I was pushing the reset button because she didn’t think I was holding it long enough (I’d been holding it the whole time). At which point she said she’d have their warranty department send me an email about what I could do. Considering I’ve had mine for almost 2 years, I doubt they’re going to do anything. Personally, I am not impressed, it’s clearly a software issue that they aren’t fixing, probably because it’s an older model and they want you to buy a newer more expensive one. My plan is to buy a new watch/tracker if I can’t get them to fix it, and it definitely will not be a Fitbit of any kind in that case.

edit: update, got an email saying it was out of warranty (surprise) but they’d be happy to give me a discount on a new Fitbit.

My Fibit Charge 3 has gone very dim, just today that I noticed it.  I reset it, held for at least 8 seconds and got the smiley face, but  very dim.  I tried calling teck support tonight, was on hold for a few minutes and then it seemed like someone answered, but no one spoke or answered my repeated greetings.  Not too helpful. Can someone contact me as well please, re this problem, Thanks Mary Lynn Busch, St Thomas, Ont

I kept working on it and was able to scroll through to settings and change it...It seems to be working fine now!

Getting a discount is at least something. My Charge 3 screen just blacked out too and it will be 2 years old come Feb 2021. Although I have an Apple Watch, I miss my FitBit.

Mine has been having the same issue for a couple of weeks now. Seems to work Ok after plugging it into the charger. But then back to dim or blank screen in a day or so.
It’s over 2 yrs old so I figured out of warranty 😞

Hope they find a fix!
