Charge 3 screen won't turn on properly

Having issues with my charge 3 screen not working when I press the side button.  I have tried rebooting several times and while display works for a short time it always goes back to not working again. My fitbit is still tracking and syncing so I know it is a problem with the screen. This is a replacement unit which I got in January this year due to problems with the screen being dim on the last one which was only months old.
