Charge 3 screen won't turn on when tapped

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

As title says.  I've done the whole spiel: remove device and re-add it, unpair and re-pair, reset, synch, etc.  The screen no longer wakes when tapped and I have to press the side button to show screen.  Obviously someone futzed with the sensitivity settings somewhere in the code and set it to zero or something.  Being disabled and not being able to show the screen by tapping it is a PITA.

Also, which dim bulb in your employ thought it was a good idea to force us to set alarms on the watch and no longer let us use the app to organize them.  That is the opposite of a 'quality of life' improvement and just plain dumb.  Seriously, you have somehow managed to take an adequate product and make it worse all while failing to deliver on a 2+ year promise for an O2 meter.

Sincerely,

Not Happy

Hi @bandtCK2, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I totally understand how you feel about the screen issue that your Charge 3 is experiencing. By the way, thank you for trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try one more workaround, which has been helpful for this issue. Please try a long restart. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.
  8. Set up your tracker from scratch again and see if the screen turns on when you tap your device.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

My apologies for the delay in replying as I don't check this email address as often as I should.
After re-reading patch notes and futzing with the settings it turns the watch was in Sleep Mode.
I'm guessing that after the update Sleep Mode defaulted to 'On'. Who woulda thunk it...

Anyway, the situation is resolved, thanks for reply.

PS: Still a bit salty about not being able to set alarms in the app. 😉
