On the front display, rather than when you swipe up the battery icon is constantly there and is covering part of the digits of the time. How do I get rid of this. Please help

Not sure, but that might be a warning that battery is nearly out, and needs recharging.  Put on charger at least a few minutes and see if it goes away.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
