Charge 3 sleep information inaccurate

Hello,

Both me and my wife have Charge 3 which we use mostly to monitor our health. We have constantly noticed that the sleep tracking is largely inaccurate. Oftentimes reports that I went to bed during hours which I was either watching tv from my sofa or reading a book.

Also the time asleep vs total slept hours makes no sense as I know for example several nights I might wake up and not fall back to sleep for 2-3 hours while the device shows that not only I am asleep but I am also in deep sleep.

My wife has also noticed the same from her device. Simply we do not rely anymore on this device to decide the quality of our sleep.  I did contact once Line 1 support and their answer was the typical from the book. Have you tried to tie ti properly, is it this far away from your wrist, are you sure you are not wearing it over your sleeves. Besides making me feel like  an idiot, it only shows the low quality of support.

To sum up, after using it for almost 10 months we can conclude that in our case this decide simply generates incorrect information.

Welcome to the Community, @Andys84.

Thanks for sharing this information with us and for the efforts in trying to fix this sleep issue. I recommend trying the following:

  1. Make sure to not take off your tracker during the night.
  2. Do you remember being awake during the night? If yes, that solves it! Keep in mind that if your tracker will detect if you are awake and will stop the sleep tracking process. If no, proceed to step three.
  3. Restart the tracker. See instructions in the help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?.
  4. Confirm that the tracker is snug on your wrist (with an HR tracker, the lights shouldn't be visible).
  5. Try sleeping with the tracker on your non-dominant hand.
  6. If the setting was set to sensitive, please switch it to normal.
  7. If steps 1-6 do not solve the issue, I suggest manually editing the sleep log to reflect the time slept. See instructions in the article: How do I change my sleep history?.

Let me know the outcome.

I kindly ask you to read my first post where I mentioned that I did go through your fist line of support. Dont you think they didn't tell me the steps you just copy-pasted here as well?

This is the exam reason why I am so frustrated with your support. You treat us as if we are just a bunch of idiots.

"Make sure to not take off your tracker during the night." - what kind of a questions is this? You think if I take off the device during night I would spend my time with your support over the phone and now here writing and claiming the device is not recording my sleep?
