Charge 3 step count changed after syncing

I had over 14k steps and all other goals met yesterday. I synced the phone last night and it was fine. When it synced this morning the steps were about half and the other goals were not counted. What’s wrong?

Hello there @Tmans, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry for the late response. I appreciate the information provided.

Could you please tell me how are you registering your activities? I recommend taking a look at the help article: How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

Or by any chance, have you manually logged activities? Typically, your steps will be recalculated if you manually log an activity as the manually logged activity takes precedence over the steps you tracked while wearing your tracker at that point in time. For example, if I am wearing my tracker and walking and I reach 10,000 steps, then I go to the computer and manually log an activity that starts and ends at that point in time for say 1 hour, Fitbit will calculate how many steps you took and it may bring my step count to something below 10,000 steps.

If you didn't manually log activities, we are not sure what might have caused this. However, we would expect this to be a one glitch and I would ask you to keep an eye on your tracker and in the case this happens again, please let me know and I will be glad to further investigate

I'll be around, keep me posted.

I wasn’t manually logging anything. Some of the steps were calculated by the tracker in exercise mode for treadmill and the rest were just calculated by the tracker throughout the day. Thanks!

Hi there @Tmans, thanks for getting back and letting me know that information.

As mentioned, we would expect this to be a one glitch and I would ask you to keep an eye on your tracker and in the case this happens again, please let me know and I will be glad to further investigate. 😉

I just experienced this as well. Have there been any updates or advice?

My Fitbit, charge 3,  isn’t tracking steps but instead is tracking calories. Also, the sleep app disappeared. I don’t have premium. Was there a change?
