Charge 3 steps while horseback riding

I got a Fitbit Charge 3 for Christmas. I wore it for the first time yesterday when I went horseback riding. I think it counted my horses steps as I ended up with a whopping 19000 steps! Got a merit badge and email congrats. By my estimation, I might have logged 7000 steps. Has anyone else encountered this problem and what can I do about it?

Welcome to the Community, @SunsetRunner.

Keep in mind that your device will count your steps depending on the hand movement. Have you tried to log "Horseback riding"? If you haven't, I recommend trying this by doing the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app
  2. Next to the exercise tile tap the "+" icon
  3. Enter "Horseback riding" and your information
  4. Tap Log it
  5. Sync

Let me know the outcome. 🙂
