Charge 3 stopped working

The "issue" started with one of the lights at the back of the fitbit blinking and buzzing (the green light) - and then random lines of 0000000 across the screen.  Next the device would not switch on.  I ensued that the battery was fully charged - and while plugged in via the usb cable used the devices's reboot function - no change - and then the 8second hold the button reboot.  This seems to give the device life for 3-4 hours, where after it just switches off.  When I plug it in via usb cable, the fitbit app sync shows that the battery is full.  I've now tried the 15 second button reboot - but that seems to do nothing!!

 

Is this the end of the 16 month of life of my fitbit?
