I have a Charge 3. I have used 3 different charge cables, 2 different computers, 8 different USB ports, and restarted the charge 3. I have cleaned the contacts with a toothbrush and rubbing alcohol, and dried throughly and it still will not charge. Help!!!

Hi Timctrucker, my name is Judi Wood. I just bought my first Charge 3. It is the first Charge that I have ever had problems with. But, boy do they have problems! My first one, I spent the better part of four days getting it to charge enough to use it. It could NOT do that for me. So I took it back to where I bought it for an exchange. Only this time I got smart and I told them to charge the new one while my husband and I ran errands for a while. They could not get it to charge, to sync, to do ANY thing that a Charge is supposed to do, (It seems pretty interesting that the name of the product is the name of its biggest problem.) That one could not do it, either. So, I agreed to come back in the next day and try a third Charge 3. But I told them that their techie guy was going to get it charged and synced before we left the store. They agreed, again. So, they got the process started enough that I could wear it home. That was not even a week ago. Since then, I have had to charge mine every other day. That would NOT be so frustrating, except that I have an iWatch. My biggest complaint with it is that it also must be charged every day, or two. That WAS why I chose to get rid of it and switch to a Charge, again.
I have had NO problems with ANY of my other products from Fitbit before, and I have successfully used them for eight years. I started with the clip Fitbit which was simple but accurate! Its time with me only ended after I had used duct tape, layered duct tape, and other ways to keep that Fitbit walking/working with me. Then it fell off and it was gone forever. I bought a Charge HR and wore it until it wore out. It was replaced by two Charge 2s because I bought my husband and I each one to keep track of our steps. BOTH of their bands broke and, because of where they broke, I could not even use duct tape to fix them. ☹
I still have mine. But I bought the Charge 3 because I was hoping they had learned a lesson or two in the eight years that I have used their products. Now I am NOT so sure! I just want to know how to get the same quality of Charge as I have had before. A Charge that NEEDS to be charged EVERY day, or even a portion of everyday, is of little or NO use to me. I wear it during the day to do what it was designed to do, keep track of my activity level, and track my steps through the day. But I also bought it to keep track of my hours resting/sleeping because I have two conditions that I have recently been diagnosed with which are affected by my lack of sleep. Some people may be able to charge their Charge while they sleep. But I cannot. So, where DO we look for information on getting them to really charge for seven days? Or, who do we contact to get some REAL help with a REAL problem? (This IS the biggest reason that I do my research online but by locally. They know that I WILL be back if I am not satisfied with what they have sold me!) Judi Wood
