Charge 3 won't stop vibrating

I just took a hike with my new Charge 3. It vibrated thru the entire 4 miles! It was every few seconds, randomly. Very distracting and drained the battery unnecessarily. I do not have exercise cues on, that was the first thing I checked. There wasn't anything notable on the screen when I looked. It happened when I was moving and when I was stopped. Why is it doing this? It doesn't do this when I take spin or kickboxing and use it to track those workouts.

It's great to see you around @mer10s.

If your tracker is vibrating randomly, I recommend restarting it by doing the following:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button to restart your tracker:
    • Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Man Happy

I have tried this several times. The vibrating only happens when using a walk or hike exercise mode. I can't figure out why it's doing it. Or any pattern to it.

Thanks for the information @mer10s.

For walking, do you have the "Auto Pause" option on? If you do, I recommend turning it off by going to your exercises > Walk > swipe up and turn this option off.

About hike, are you selecting this activity or are you using running to track it?

Keep me posted. Robot Very Happy

I do not see an auto pause option.  When I swipe up. The  only thing that's there is phone GPS

I choose hike.

Hi!  I tried to reset my Charge 3 but my Charge 3 still won't stop vibrating.  Is there anything else I can do.  It's quite annoying.  Thanks!

It's great to see new faces @Shibafox, welcome!

Thanks for troubleshooting this vibration issue by yourself. Have you checked if the reminders to move are on? If you haven't, I recommend checking this by following the instructions provided in the help article What is a Fitbit reminder to move?.

Hope to hear from you soon. Smiley Wink

I turned off Step Reminders in my iPhone App but that hasn't stopped the random vibrating from my Charge 3.  What else should I do?  My firmware version is 20001.49.45.  This shouldn't happen to a new Charge 3.

Ever since I got a new Charge 3, the vibrating issue is no longer a problem.  Thanks!  I am wary about the new Software Update.  Anyone have issues with the new software update for the Charge 3?  Thanks!

Hi,  wondering if this was resolved as i also have this issue when set on walk.  Very annoying!!!

No, none of these solutions have helped. What I have discovered is a the fitbit and my phone lose Bluetooth connectivity during the walk/hike (any activity that is not mostly stationary. Think not in a gym setting) And the fitbit is vibrating to alert me of the loss of connection. It really ruins that function of the device for me. And I am seeking out other devices to use. This will be the last fitbit I ever buy

I am having the same problem. I have tried to reset it but it won’t stop vibrating. It is vibrating so much that I can’t get to the exercise screen and the light on it is red even though it was just charged and has almost a full battery.  What should I do?

Best Answer

I turned Bluetooth off as someone on here said it was the Bluetooth disconnecting/connecting even though my phone and fitbit were both on me.  The vibrating stopped but then i didn't get the map and tracking feature that i wanted so i now have to use Samsing Health app to do that. I think i should have bought a samsung watch now 😞
