Charge 3 won’t sync and won’t pair after removing it

I know there are only like 3 people that have this device right now, but if anyone else that has it can check...is yours syncing ok? Mine last synced 4 hours ago and when trying to force a manual sync it wouldn’t get past “looking.” I tried the usual fixes - turning bluetooth off and on, removing the C3 from the app and my phone and attempting to re-add it, power cycling my phone...nothing works. The user manual says to press the side button for 8 seconds to reset, but all that does is bring up the screen wake/notifications toggle screen. Just issues due to it being new/unreleased, or is it possible it crapped out on me already?!

I wiped out all of the data again, and replaced the C3 on the app like I had purchased a new one, and it has now synced, for the moment. Holding my breath...

Thank you, I will do exactly what you said. Initially I sorted issue now it's causing more hassle than the FB3 Is worth, sorry my husband bought this for me. Worst present ever.

Mine will sync after putting it in the cradle and holding the button for 8 seconds until a happy face appears. Frustrating that I've had to do that each day since I got it.

So far today it's been syncing normally.

@Whatthewhatcrg3 that does sound frustrating, I'm hoping you experience improves. Could you share the make and model of the device you are syncing?

You know when you wipe out data you are only wiping out the data from your watch. That data is still in your account in the Fitbit cloud.

Hello,

I think the next step for this Fitbit 3 is the bin. I'm sick of it and only
have it since Christmas morning gone, as a present from my husband luckily
my husband won't mind, but that's not the point. I've done everything that
was asked turned it off and uninstalled the app, did the blue tooth with
the ! Icon cleared the data rebooted, everything it's simply not worth my
time and effort it's wasting my time. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Regards

Different device, different network just might be the fix! Don’t get me wrong— this Charge 3 should be made to work on all devices and networks.

Hi can I ask, did you do reboot or clear data?

Both. In hindsight I would have just rebooted the C3 and probably not lost a day or more of data…but it continues to work as expected with a no issues sync this morning. I will probably walk and swim today so we will see if it is back on total track.

--------------------------

From what I am reading of all this notices, there is a much bigger problem with the Android platform sync than with iPhone.

-------------------------

My C3 has been mostly trouble free. I got it as part of the first release in November 2018 and once I got it setup and configured correctly (e.g. detect swim after 10 min not 30) it worked fine until this recent hiccup. I had not restarted the C3 in a long time…months so it could just have been internal buffers exceeded or some such.

Working now. We shall see.

I have applied the one C3 upgrade and have gone through several iOS 12.x upgrades since being on the C3. Since I have Apple applying the updates automatically, my suspicion is that the most recent 12.1.2 may have caused a minor wrinkle of some sort. The 12.1.3 should be applying soon so that could be interesting.

Yes.  It is syncing all my steps just fine now, but no notifications at all.

You only lose data on your watch. The data in your account is still there. That is what they say

If you reboot no data lost but a clear user data will lose anything that was not sync.

Losing data not synced is not as important to losing data in your account. Have you ever been able to sync? I believe data not synced stays in the C3 only for a week.
