Hi there @RRong, welcome on board.

While reading your post I was wondering if the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices? You can see the list at: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Please keep in mind that when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It might work at a certain time and then it can stop working out of nowhere after an update. This is because the app is not optimized to that device and any change could impact the performance. If your phone is included, please follow the steps in the article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

If the syncing issue persists, I suggest following the steps below:

1. Remove the Charge 3 from your phone's Bluetooth settings

2. Restart your Charge 3

3. Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.

4. Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.

5. Setup your Charge 3

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

Thanks for the reply. But the sync kept going off with my Android phone - which was working well as of July this year.  What else can I do to ensure the sync works besides changing phone?

A week ago my Charge 3 stopped syncing.  I have tried all the steps you recommend.  It still won't sync.  My phone (Pixel 2XL) Android sees it, but can't pair with it.  I get insurance company points and rewards for logging my steps.  I need to get this resolved!!

Hi there @RRong, thanks for getting back.

Is your phone compatible with the Fitbit app? As mentioned above, when a device is not supported we cannot guarantee its functionality with the Fitbit app. It can stop working out of nowhere after an update. However, you can still try the troubleshooting steps provided in the help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Hello @BarbBB27, welcome on board. Thank you so much for following the steps I recommended.

Besides the steps you've done, please try the following:

  1. Go into your phone settings and select "Apps"

  2. Find and select Fitbit

  3. Tap "Advanced" and then tap "Battery"

  4. Select "Battery Optimization"

  5. Tap the bar at the top of the screen and select "All Apps"

  6. Find Fitbit in the list, tap it and select "Don't Optimize"

  7. This should help improve your syncing experience and should not have a large impact on your phone's battery life.

Hi,

Yes my phone has always been compatible. It is on the compatible list. I only start to have issue with syncing lately.... I tried all methods but still can't sync and it's depressing as I bought this tracker for a challenge but now I can't use it. Any other ways?

Hi MarreFitbit: I didn't have to do this next step you recommended. When
I tried to setup my Fitbit again on my phone - after trying all the other
steps. It worked this time. So, success. It's still not tracking my
sleep, which it did before, so maybe I have to go back in and activate that
again, as well. Thanks! BarbBB27

Hi there @BarbBB27, you're very welcome. I'm glad to hear that the steps worked for you.

If you are not receiving sleep stages, I recommend considering the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Hello there @RRong. Thank you so much for all the steps you've tried so far. We’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.

We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.

Please let us know if there's anything we can do to assist you in the meantime.

This has happened to my Fitbit a few times; my phone doesn't match what my tracker says. Every time it happens I find  at the top of my Fitbit screen "Enable Bluetooth'~right next to that it says ENABLE'
I click on that & PRESTO my phone & tracker are in perfect harmony~I need to remember to check that because I have spent so much time trying to sync, only to discover all I need to do is tap ENABLE

I have no idea why it happens & it doesn't happen often.
I hope this simple solution works for you!
